Dentist Clifton NJ
Welcome to Dentist Clifton NJ, a site for consumers searching for a good dentist. This site was created to help you find a recommended dentist in your area. I wanted to create this website with the consumer in mind, since I am a consumer like you, but I had a very bad experience with a dentist and an endodontist. Due to my previous bad experience from a dental office, I was left angry and afraid to go to another dentist without a recommendation!
That’s why I started this site to help you avoid any bad experience with dental offices in your area. If you are looking for an affordable family dentist from Cosmetic dentistry to an endodontist or orthodonistry, this site is for you. I will have recommendations available to help you find a professional and affordable dentist Clifton, NJ.
Afraid of the Dentist and No Dental Insurance
It is no secret, but many of us are afraid of the dentist, but I never was, until I experienced this nightmare from a painful tooth.
My previous dentist retired over a year ago, so I needed a new dentist. At this time, I had only partial dental insurance coverage so I needed to pay for most of my dental work. Since I had no recommendations, I searched online for a Clifton dentist, using this term, dentist Clifton NJ.
I found some dentists from DMD to DDS and cosmetic dentists to oral surgeons, but I just wanted a family dentist quickly.
I knew that specialists such as endodonists and orthodontists would be very expensive, so I opted for a general DMD and DDS. After searching relentlessly for a Clifton dentist, I found one that was not around the area of Clifton, so I would have to travel.
I really wanted to find dentists in Clifton NJ since they were accredited from the ADA, American Dental Association, but I couldn’t locate one at the moment so I figured I would give this other DMD a try.
After setting my initial appointment, I hoped the dental work would be done quickly and correctly. I didn’t want any surprises of unnecessary work as root canals and teeth whitening, that was unnecessary.
I hoped the dental costs and fees would be explained up front from the staff, but they stated most of my visit would be manageable and would be covered by the insurance.
Before I even met the dentist, I met with the dental hygienist, who completed a comprehensive dental exam with x-rays and an oral cancer screening, checking for gum disease and tooth decay. The dental hygienist told me I may need a root canal and other therapy, such as teeth cleaning and periodontal work.
The root canal meant that I would have to visit an endodontist, more money, since this dentist wouldn’t be able to extract the tooth, then I would need a crown. The periodontal work, included gum and teeth cleaning, to prevent the onset of Gingivitis, which if I left untreated, may get worse.
I included on an interesting article on gum disease, interesting how your teeth affects your health.

The total costs were finalized but never explained to me, eventhough the dental billing person said it would be fine.
Dental Horror Story
At last, I found out that most of the periodontal scaling and the root canal would not be covered by insurance, even though they told me not to worry about it. Then I found out I needed a tooth extraction along with the root canal. Then horror of all horrors, the dentist told me he would pull it to save me money. BAD DECISION.
He said it wouldn’t be bad, it’s not infected and I wouldn’t need anymore Novocain, since he drilled most of it down. I watched in horror as he tried to yank the tooth out and I felt pain, I sat there and was scared, but after 3 tries he finally got it out. I should have run, but I sat there, in horror and in pain, watching him pull the tooth.
I had to go the emergency room to get relief from an infection that was caused by him pulling the tooth! Now I had to endure an emergency room bill because the dentist wasn’t around to prescribe me any pain medicine. It became a horror story, and to make matters worse, I had to wait for 2 weeks now, because my tooth got infected and I had to start on antibiotics.
The Visit to the Endodontist
Then I had to visit the endodontist for the root canal of another tooth. Then I found out this was going to be a root canal of a tooth that was done over a year ago. This tooth had to be redone and I probably would need another crown, if he couldn’t refit the one that was on there.
There you go, I had a dentist who scammed me, and now I would be paying a fortune to get my teeth fixed correctly.
To make a long story short, the insurance would not cover another redo of a root canal and the bills for all this dental work were outrageous. Plus, the experience of going through this dental nightmare is outrageous. It seems that some dentists that can take advantage of the average consumer and instead of it being about helping the patient, it may be about money!
Going to the dentist office can be a scary thing if we don’t know the dental office and the staff. We only hope we have chosen a dentist, who is a licensed professional and his work is painless! This is why I created Dentist Clifton NJ, to help other people like me looking for a new family dentist.
Check these things out first:
- Will the dental office accept medical insurance, or if not all insurance, will they accept payment plans
- Make sure all dental work is explained, along with costs, at your initial visit
- Dentists and specialists, such as endodontists and orthodontists can be very expensive and treatments and costs vary among them
- Check out your Dentist’s Qualifications, DMD or DDS, a qualified dentist is a healthcare professional able to practice dentistry after graduating with a degree of either a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD)
- If you need specialty care for yourself or your child then you would need to ensure they have three- to four-year post graduate degrees if they are in the area of Endodontics, Orthodontics, Surgery and Pediatric Dentistry
GOOD VISIT TO DENTIST vs A BAD VISIT TO DENTIST
Conclusion – Concerned Consumer Scammed
Now you realize , after going through this dental horror experience, I pledged to at least try to help people find a good, qualified dentist. I had been paying bills that never were explained to me and more bills kept coming and the dental office demanded full payment since this work was completed, eventhough it was bad!
I had been put in a good deal of pain, with this tooth extraction and infection that had incurred, and, as much as I want to do so, I cannot bring myself to mentioning the name of the outfit that put me through one of the worse dental experiences I ever had.
I was scammed and treated very badly, so I created this blog on Dentist Clifton NJ, to help other people find highly recommended dentists.
You see, I figured , if you live in the area of Clifton and need a new dentist or specialist, usually you will log onto your computers and type Dentist Clifton NJ or Dentist in Clifton to find a recommendation. I wanted you to find my website because unlike other sites that may pop up, I do not own my own dental office, but will now recommend a very top-rated dentist in the area of Clifton.
